Marching Band / Concert Band 1st Trimester
The West Valley High School Ram Marching Band is open to all instrumental music students in the West Valley School District in grades 9-12. This course is team taught by the high school and junior high school band directors with the assistance of other support staff. The marching band performs at all home football games, the Yakima Sunfair and Veteran's Day parades, and at three regional marching competitions usually in the month of October. All participating students are expected to attend the summer band camp in August. Upon the conclusion of the marching season, all participating students will take part in the concert band. Wind Ensemble and Concert Band 2nd and 3rd Trimesters

Jazz Ensembles
West Valley High School is fortunate to have two jazz ensembles; jazz band I and jazz band II. Participation in jazz band is by audition only. Jazz Band students are expected to complete a minimum of two trimesters of large group band instruction throughout the school year and to remain in jazz band for the entire school year. West Valley High School jazz ensembles perform at all evening instrumental music concerts, 3-4 regional jazz festivals in the winter and spring months, and at several community events throughout the year.
