Thank you for your interest in RAP. Please read on to see if our education setting seems to fit your circumstances. All potential students must complete an application, credit screening and an interview with RAP staff. A parent or guardian must be present at that interview.

Successful RAP students are those that would benefit from a school setting that…

• Starts later in the day, allowing them to meet their work schedules or other commitments during the mornings and day time without missing class.
• Allows students to focus on only one or two courses at a time, rather than juggling so many assignments and due dates at once.
• Has fewer distractions and many fewer students creating a quieter, calmer learning environment.
• Encourages independent skills and decisions while also offering one-on-one assistance from a teacher.
• Is set up so that each student has access to a computer for the entire class period.

The independent nature of the classes is the biggest difference between the curriculum in RAP and the traditional HS. The courses meet all of the same standards and include rigorous and challenging assignments. While it is can be very empowering for a student to set their own due dates and alleviate the stress of keeping up with a class, it is also a challenge for students in RAP to set a pace that keeps them on track with graduation, or at least doesn’t set them up to end up further behind. This mix of powerful pros and cons is why we interview all potential students and their parents before admitting the applicant to RAP.

This unique program is a good fit for many unique circumstances and students. We recognize that a program of this nature can be quite foreign to many students and parents.
