Components of the Senior Project at WVHS

All components of the Senior Project at WVHS address Washington State Learning Goals 3 and 4.  It provides an opportunity for every student to demonstrate that they can think analytically, logically, and creatively, and can integrate experiences and knowledge to form reasoned judgments and solve problems.

The Senior Project: each student will spend a minimum of 20 hours working on their culminating Project. It includes a proposal paper (application for activity/experience), action plan (to do list), mentor/community contact agreement and evaluations (4 throughout 20 hour project), evidence collection, journal and a reflective paper where the students refllect on the overall experience.

The Portfolio: This includes goal setting, personal statement, resume, best works, community service, portfolio, 13th year plan, mentorship, financial educaton, job shadow, project and exit presentation.

The Exit Presentation/Interview: requires students to present their portfolio they have maintained for four year. They will respond to questions in a way that demonstrates their readiness to take responsibility for their own learning and share their achievements.  The student will present their portfolio to two different teachers (one will be their ram prep teacher) in order to qualify for graduation.
