The 2008 Yearbooks will arrive in August of 2008. The Yearbook Staff apologizes for the later than planned delivery.

WASL Retakes in August 2008

 

Students in Grades 10, 11 and 12 who will retake their WASL should register online. The dates for this online registration are June 9-27, 2008.

Location:  West Valley High School

Eligible Students:  Students who were in grades 10, 11 and 12 during the 2007-08 school year are eligible to take one, two or all three content areas: Reading, Mathematics or Writing (Science is not offered in the summer) of the August 2008 High School WASL. This includes students who met or did not meet standard, did not participate in testing or who have transferred from out-of-state.

Note: Students who were in 9th grade this past year, private school students and home-based students may not participate in the August 2008 High School WASL.

Student Registration Information:  Students register online or via a toll-free telephone number between June 9 and June 27, 2008. The State Student ID (SSID) number is needed to register. The student's SSID number can be found on the student's WASL Score Report.

Toll-Free Phone Registration: 1-866-400-WASL (1-866-400-9275), with support 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekdays.

Reporting For Testing: Students must report for testing at 8 a.m. Testing begins at 8:30 a.m. each day. All tests must be completed on the scheduled day. Reading and Mathematics tests must be completed by 5 p.m. The Writing test spans two days. Writing tests must be completed by 3 p.m.

-      Monday, August 11, 2008 -- Reading (Part 1 at 8:30 a.m. – Part 2 at 1 p.m.)

-      Tuesday, August 12, 2008 -- Mathematics (Part 1 at 8:30 a.m. – Part 2 at 1 p.m.)

----NOTE: For the Writing WASL, students must attend both days of testing (August 13 and 14, 2008).----

-      Wednesday, August 13, 2008 -- Writing (Expository) -- Students begin test at 8:30 a.m. each day. If students are not finished by noon, they may return at 1 p.m. for transcription and editing of final draft.

-      Thursday, August 14, 2008 -- Writing (Persuasive) -- Students begin test at 8:30 a.m. each day. If students are not finished by noon, they may return at 1 p.m. for transcription and editing of final draft.

 Students are asked to bring the following to August WASL Testing:

-                 Official school or government picture IDs (required)

-                 Spring 2008 WASL Score Reports (if available)

-                 Pre-registration confirmations (if available)

-                 Calculators for Mathematics testing (if desired)

-                 Lunches or have made other arrangements
