Unit 3 ~ Smart Shopping Assignment

Have you ever thought about how much marketing (think: tricks) goes into a grocery store? You’ll be surprised at how much they are counting on you NOT thinking when you grocery shop. Since it is the store you will spend money in most often, it is worth the time to learn the tricks so you don’t get suckered. J

You will have to print off some questions and take them to the grocery store with you. Plan to spend some time and take some notes! You might also plan ahead to do this while you are shopping for your cooking labs.

There is a worksheet for each assignment. The two assignments are briefly explained below:

1. Go to ONE grocery store of your choice and compare prices between brands right there.
2. Go to at least THREE grocery stores of your choice and compare prices between stores on the same items.
