The following letters are all useful in geting, keeping and leaving a job. They should not be handed to an employer unless they are PERFECT, so you will need to work on these assignments until they have NO errors. For each letter you can have an imaginary job in mind, or use something from real life.
Cover Letter - Usually dropped off or mailed with your resume or application. It is more personal/friendly than the resume and introduces you before the reader gets to the resume. (Include a detail that makes them want to see your resume or meet you at an interview to learn more...)
Thank You Letter - Sent after an interview to keep your name on their mind and show your polite manners. You should also send Thank You letters to people who help you complete Ram Prep assignments like the Job Shadow and the Job Interview Practice. You can use one of those as this assignment if you don't want to write fake ones.
Resignation Letter - It can be tempting to just walk off a job and never go back. The downside of leaving like that is when you need a reference or a new employer wants to talk to a former boss. To leave with style, a short resignation letter is the key. Practice writing these and pile up good references for when you find the perfect job you just have to have!
