Remember when you listed what you wanted to learn in this class you wrote for yourself? This is where you discuss how well you learned what you had hoped to learn.
FIRST, go back to your proposal and find your 10 learning goals.
SECOND, copy and paste those goals into a new document.
THIRD, for each goal you will type a paragraph or two of thoughtful analysis. Your writing should explain to what extent you met the goal (100%, 50%, etc.) and how you know. It is completely OK to have not met all of your learning goals as long as you explain why or what else you would have needed to do to meet the goal.
Examples:
GOAL: Learn to install a transmission.
ASSESSMENT: I was hoping to really understand how to do this so I could do it on my own. I was only able to watch this happen in the garage and I know realize it would take a lot more than that to be ready to do this. I also learned that each make/model is different so you can't just "learn" this and have it be the same each time. I was able to ask questions while I watched and the mechanic was very nice to answer, but I can honestly say I don't know how to do this on my own, yet.GOAL: Fly an airplane.
ASSESSMENT: I am taking flight lessons. Even though I have my 20 hours, we aren't to the part of the course when we get to fly. I have been in the plane and had the controls for short periods of time, but that doesn't really count. I am enjoying the course and know I will be able to fly a plane in a few more weeks when we get to that part of the course. I am still looking forward to it!
FINALLY, make sure the document has an intro or decent headings, your name, your project and other information that make it meaningful. It should also be proofread and sound like senior level writing!
