For the spring 2009 season the West Valley Boys' Golf Team will be traveling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to participate in the 2009 Palmetto High School Golf Championships scheduled for April 9-11. The Palmetto High School Golf Championships is a 54-hole event hosted on 12 courses throughout the Myrtle Beach area. The first day of the event is an 18 hole qualifying tournament. Teams are then assigned to flights based on their qualifying round scores and compete against the rest of their flight for the final 36 holes. Awards are given to the top three teams and the top ten individuals in each flight. West Valley last competed in the event in 2005. For more information click here to visit the tournament website. |

| Wanting to get ready for next golf season? If you are looking to gain tournament experience there are many different organizations that operate in the area that offer a chance to compete against other area junior golfers. The Washington Junior Golf Association (WJGA) has tournaments throughout the months of June and July. Please see the District 4 homepage on the WJGA website for more information about the dates and registration process for these events. Jeff Bender, the golf professional at Black Rock Creek Golf Course in Sunnyside, runs the AAU sponsored tournaments in the region. These 9-hole events are held in the afternoons at area golf courses. Other extremely competitive tours include the Northwest Junior Golf Tour, the Future Collegians World Tour, and the American Junior Golf Association. |
