West Valley High School’s return to in-person learning has been put on hold, but that hasn’t stopped coaches from getting their student-athletes back onto the practice field. On January 27, WVHS Athletic Director, Jeff Jamieson, announced that the Department of Health, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, and District Nurses have all approved the WV Fall Sports Season. Football will begin on February 16 and all other fall sports will begin on February 22. Registration for Fall Sports will open on February 1.
Football and Volleyball will begin conditioning workouts on February 1 in pods of 6 players. Girl's Soccer will also begin conditioning workouts on February 1, but are not restricted to pods. To be eligible to participate in these workouts, athletes must be registered for Summer 2.0 workouts on Family ID and have a current physical on file in the WVHS office. In addition, masks/face coverings are required for all participants as well as having the Skyward daily wellness screening completed to show the coach. Family ID can be found on the WVHS website under the athletics tab or here.
