Greetings to you from the West Valley Agricultural Department and FFA Chapter! The officers of the West Valley FFA Chapter would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the great opportunities available to your child within the FFA organization.
The FFA is a national organization for students in grades 9-12 who are enrolled in agricultural education courses. FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. Students who are members of the FFA chapter are exposed to a wide variety of experiences and will put them at a great advantage when applying for college, scholarships, as well as employment opportunities.
Some of the advantages of FFA membership include but are not limited to; over one million dollars in scholarships during their senior year, travel, leadership experience, civic responsibilities within the community, meeting lifelong friends with similar interests, and job skills. All of this at minimal cost to the student. Students who are FFA members have a greater self-confidence, an increased perspective of the world around them, and excellent communication abilities.
There is a wide range of interest activities for FFA members from cows and cats to tractors and trees and everything in between. I urge you to encourage your child to come to an FFA meeting and see everything FFA has to offer. There truly is something for everyone in FFA. FFA meetings are once a month. The annual FFA dues are only $20.00 and those dues entitle each member to participate in a substantial number of activities.
Please feel free to call, email, or stop by any time and talk to our FFA Chapter Officers or FFA Advisor Ms. Smith
