Congratulations to our high school choir students!
Congratulations are in order for some of our outstanding choir students from West Valley High School!
On Saturday, January 20, 2024, three students from West Valley qualified for the state solo/ensemble competition that will be held in the spring at Central Washington University.
The regional competition was held at Eisenhower High School. The following students were awarded first place in their category:
Sariah Dunstan, Soprano – First Place
Makadie Miller, Mezzo-Soprano – First Place
Kali Winters, Alto – First Place
In addition, Tyler Finch was awarded second place in the region for the Bass category which means that Tyler will be a “first-alternate” for the state competition. And, Caden Winters was recognized for third place in the region for the Baritone category which means that Caden will be the “second-alternate” for the state competition.
Best wishes to Sariah, Makadie, and Kali at the state competition!
Thank you to our High School Choir Teacher, Peter Krum, for his guidance to all of our students who performed at the regional competition.
The West Valley community will have an opportunity to hear Sariah and Makadie in the upcoming musical, "Freaky Friday," which will be performed at the West Valley Junior High Auditorium, February 22 – 24, and February 29 – March 1, 2024.
"Freaky Friday" is the story of a mom and daughter who switch bodies and learn a different perspective in mother-daughter dynamics. The role of the Mom will be played by Makadie Miller and the role of the Daughter will be played by Sariah Dunstan. Be sure to mark your calendar to hear these two award-winning singers in this year’s musical!
